Takeshi Nanase found out that the world we know is only half of the story on a summer morning. One day as Takeshi goes on his way to kendo practice, Takeshi comes across an unconscious girl in a uniform that he doesn’t recognize at all. Takeshi did the right thing to save the girl by bringing her to the clinic room but the girl wakes up and accidentally turns Takeshi into a magic user. Takeshi finds out that there’s a world of magic users, and most of the magic users want a peaceful coexistence with non-magicians but for some with a bigger ambition at the same time.

Mui Aiba, the girl Takeshi saved and the one who gave magic to him at the same time. Mui is a magician enrolled in Subaru Magic Academy, where magic users can learn, control and channel the powers and also how-to live-in peace with regular humans. After this great encounter of Mui with Takeshi and his newly magician friends Kurumi Isoshima and Kazumi Ida decides to enroll in Magic Academy. The three friends Takeshi, Kurumi and Kazumi have also different reasons for what they are fighting. It can be an escape from the past or catch up to the future. With the new found magic powers, Takeshi, with Kurumi and Kazumi must learn to harness and use the magic powers they gain not just to fight the Ghost Trailers who use magic for violence to show the superiority to ordinary humans but also to prevent the beginning of the Second Great Magic War.

The Mahou Sensou story focuses on Takeshi Nanase's encounter with an unconscious magic girl named Mui Aiba who accidentally turns Takeshi into a magic user. Takeshi learns that the world he’s living in is just half of the whole world as there is also a world of magic users. Mui is being chased and attacked by a group of magicians called Ghost Trailers who want to show to everyone to use the power to show their superiority not just to other magicians but also to the ordinary humans. Takeshi and his new found magic with Kurumi Isoshima and Kazumi Ida decide to enroll in Magic Academy where Mui is enrolled not just to learn how to use the magic, they have but also to prevent the beginning of the Second Great Magic War as well.

Mahou Sensou anime series is produced by Madhouse and did a good job for its anime adaptation and great fight scene effects of different kinds of magic users. The story is based on the light novel series of Mahou Sensou and sticks to it but also awakes the great battle scenes from one to another part of the story. Character design is also based on the original story source but a bit better looking for a magic user and some tough enemy looks that put up some strong and awesome fight. The music choice is a bit simple start but also it has the feel vibe that this is a magic warfare story, opening song a good introduction and amazing vibe start as it played, and ending song as the battle of magic continues can the main cast find what they are looking after they enrolled at the Subaru Magic Academy.

Mahou Sensou deserves a good anime recommendation in terms of magic and fantasy. It's one of the good traits of this series and made by Madhouse. Anime or light novel? The anime series is like an introduction to the story of Mahou Sensou, for some it gains some people to watch and read afterwards. The light novel series where everything started, must be read after the series is done if you want to continue the story. Both sources are great but to watch it on the first hand is something amazing battle scenes to enjoy from the start till the end part of the series, and the light novel is all about the whole story and some questions to be answered. Is Mahou Sensou an underrated anime series? Yes, for most who saw it on first hand, one big reason is that the story pace. The story pace is a bit fast for some and not enough detail information not just about how the training goes on the new academy they got into but on some parts of the power or magic they have is like they already are fine without training. That kind of scene felt a loss to some people who wanted to see the progress so fast without a good explanation. It's one of the lost points for the whole series and isekai in this kind of level is something not enough for most people who already a fan genre is hard to beat. Mahou Sensou anime series is one of a good battle magic story to prevent a second war and for the main cast it’s also finding a reason to each of their own problems to look for a new resolve as they use their own power they have in a good way to protect the future.
