Medaka Box is one of the good action-comedy anime series from 2012, a manga story written by ISIN NISIO and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. Medaka Box anime series is produced by Gainax and Asahi Production and here’s some popular titles behind its studio like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Super Robot Taisen OG: The Inspector and Futari wa Precure. Medaka Box consists of 12 episodes, runs about 24 minutes per episode and aired from April 2012 till June 2012. Opening song “HAPPY CRAZY BOX” is performed by Minami Kuribayashi. Ending song “Ohanabatake ni Tsuretette” is performed by Aki Toyosaki (Medaka Kurokami). Medaka Box anime series is directed by Shouji Saeki.

Medaka Kurokami is a high school student and not your ordinary or average person to begin with. Medaka is a real beauty, intelligent and athletic and is an almost perfect person as she runs for a student council president of Hakoniwa Academy. Medaka won a landslide election with a total of 98% of the voters is what you expect of her as her sense of a perfect person. Medaka’s dream is to make others happy, to make it happen she decides to put a “Medaka Box” to allow students to request for assistance.

To make things easier for Medaka, she recruits her long childhood friend Zenkichi Hitoyoshi who is always by her side for whatever things happen, Medaka and Zenkichi stick together. Medaka fulfills the requests at a ridiculous rate, for every achievement or job completed Medaka decides to add flowers with the aim of filling the entire school. As they help others it’s not an easy task in the first place as Medaka and Zenkichi start to uncover the devastating plan centering the Hakoniwa Academy, even Medaka herself became a part of this plan.

Medaka Box's story focuses on Medaka Kurokami not your ordinary high school student as she is the unique one or the something you don’t see a perfect one. Medaka ran to become a student council president at Hakoniwa Academy and won the election with 98% of votes. Together with her childhood friend Zenkichi Hitoyoshi helps her to fulfill her dream to make others happy, to make it happen Medaka set up the Medaka Box also known as suggestion box to allow students to submit a request for assistance. For every task completed Medaka herself adds flowers to the student council room not just to show how serious she is in her dream but also to fill up the entire school of flowers around. As Medaka and Zenkichi start to help others for assistance, they start to uncover the devastating plan centering the whole academy even Medaka herself is part of this unseen plan.

The Medaka Box anime series is produced by Gainax and Asahi Production did a great job for its animation and good battle story sequence. For the character design it’s almost the same as the manga story or mostly identical draw and superb details of each character and one thing amaze is the arm band moves with the character as it shows the detail oriented to the whole series. The animation is fluid and great is what to expect from its production. The quality doesn’t drop a bit for every action that is hard to miss them and every action count for the whole series. For the music choice is a bit catchy but suits to the whole series a reflection of the main character Medaka Kurokami, for the opening song as how she builds up not just her name but also her dream to make others happy, and ending song is a good one as a reflection of Medaka character and what’s great is that the seiyuu Aki Toyosaki is the one who performed it her catchy fun voice to a serious tone with emotion is one of I like most in this series.

Medaka Box deserves a good anime recommendation, in terms of school story this is one great series from 2012 and if you are familiar with ISIN NISIO works (Bakemonogatari) this is one of them. Anime or manga? The anime series is great start for starters who first time saw the title and school battle in a different level for its story wise this is something intriguing start for what kind of person is Medaka and is her talents are born given or she work for it those question is asked as you watch the first few episode as the episodes goes her life is something you can call a perfect being but also looking for a weakness at the same time. For the manga series almost same pace as the anime series and I decide to read it first before watching the series is something an enjoyed most as the manga answers my questions in my head for every chapters I read is like mixed emotions for me as the story balance is good and focus on main cast is one of the hard things for this series but a hit and mist sometimes. Is Medaka Box an overrated anime series? Nope, not at all the ratings are good because it’s easy to follow the story, for some it's a familiar one but at the same time the twist turns of the arc story that made it great. An easy start but as Medaka goes deeper the problem starts, something that she must solve at all cost because of her dream she will do it. Medaka resolve is one of the amazing feats to this whole story as it shows that even called a perfect, she is still vulnerable in some parts and that’s made this story a great flow and to look forward to. Medaka Box anime series is a story of a perfect Medaka Kurokami as she starts to work for her dream to make others happy and to fulfill it she will work for it with a smile.
