Hyouka

 

Hyouka is one of the great anime series from 2012, an original novel story from the title of Koten-bu Series and written by Honobu Yonezawa. Anime series of Hyouka is produced by Kyoto Animation and here’s some popular titles behind its studio like Koe no Katachi, Clannad, Violet Evergarden and Lucky Star. Hyouka consists of 22 episodes, runs about 25 minutes per episode and aired from April 2012 till September 2012. Opening song “Yasashisa no Riyuu” is performed by ChouCho, and “Mikansei Stride” is performed by Saori Kodama. Ending song “Madoromi no Yakusoku” and “Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery” both performed by Satomi Satou and Ai Kayano. Hyouka anime series is directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto.

Houtarou Oreki, a high school student and energy-conservative or also known as don’t want to do unnecessary things around, ends up joining the Classics Club because of his sister's instruction or command. Houtarou realizes how deep the club’s history really is, and end up dragged into an investigation of the 45 years old mystery surrounding the club room. Houtarou is dragged by Eru Chitanda curiosity and also fellow member of the Classics Club.

Houtarou is accompanied by his classmate the knowledgeable Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara. Houtarou must fight the deadlines and the lack of information from resources and his hidden talent, in order not just to know the truth but also the previous works before them that also need to remember the history of Classic Club and which also includes some side cases. Houtarou's mind works in different ways to answer the mystery behind and to give an answer to Eru's curiosity at the same time.

Hyouka story is based from the award-winning novel series of Koten-bu, story focus is the four main cast Houtarou the energy saving person, Satoshi Fukube knowledgeable classmate of Houtarou, Mayaka Ibara part of library club and Eru Chitanda a curiosity from everything. Houtarou joins the Classic Club because of her elder sister command before she left home and to continue the Classic Club for the following years by having a member, Eru also joins the club as she searches for an answer from things around, Satoshi a classmate and also a friend of Houtarou joins for his knowledge to dig information and Mayaka a member of library but also became a part of the club. Story moves in these four main casts not just for the search of the predecessors of the Classic Club but also to know and learn as day goes by and some side works that makes Houtarou mind works or how he sees things in different way not just to answer Eru curiosity but also to unravel of what really happened.

Hyouka anime series is produced by Kyoto Animation or KyoAni for short, did an amazing job not just to tell each arc story but also, they gave life to its characters and the mystery behind each case they tackle. Anime quality if KyoAni is amazing because they show the story from a novel to anime series is something to thank for this kind of anime series and interesting story, they select to give a new life of characters to enjoy. The music choice of Hyouka is great to listen a reflection of character or the main cast just listening the opening song it feels how the story is interesting from the start and needs to follow what will happen next and hard to miss not to listen to the music, for the ending song is one became my favorite part in the series and enjoyed most because of good performance of its seiyuu and listen to Mayaka and Eru characteristics specially the second ending song its mesmerizing even the series is done still listening to them from time to time to relax and learn the character emotion behind.

Hyouka anime series deserves a high recommendation because the mystery for every case they took up is like another question that needs an answer and a slice of life a bit hard to see this kind storyline. Anime or novel? Anime series title is Hyouka, a bit reading of its synopsis this is one of the interesting anime series produced by KyoAni and looking forward at the same time, try to read some chapters but hard to find because of language barrier or lack of English translation when the series started t aired but finding it more interesting to enjoy the anime series because it is well explained and that’s one of the things needed if you are watching a mystery series. Anime series is good to watch and reading the novel story is also good because you read everything without missing a thing, doing both is much great because the story is amazingly enjoyable for people who love mystery genre. Is Hyouka an overrated anime series? Nope, not at all the rate is good and one of the reasons behind is how the story flow or tell by animation is like detail by detail and well explained from one case to another is easy to understand and enjoying the whole anime series at the same time. Hyouka is one of the great stories of mystery to watch and every problem there’s an answer will reveal at a certain time that is how mystery stories are becoming more interesting at the same time.
