A futuristic society of Japan, started to implement a complex system called “The Red Threads of Science” to encourage the citizens a successful marriage and at the same time to combat the increasing low birthrates in the country. The system is based on a compatibility calculation of young people starting at the age of 16 years old and assigned a marriage partner by the government. For the people who will disobey the system, marriage arrangement will have an adverse effect awaits afterward. Yukari Nejima, a teenage boy that considers himself an average guy in every way is considering the system might be his one best shot living a fulfilling future life.

On one-night Yukari defies the system one reason is his infatuation with his long-time crush Misaki Takasaki. Yukari confesses his love for Misaki and at the same time Misaki reciprocates her feelings for Yukari for a moment of passion. Unfortunately, before Yukari and Misaki further their relationship and feelings for each other, Yukari receives his marriage notice. Yukari is now confused in a web of love and lies when he meets his assigned partner Ririna Sanada who becomes fascinated with his illicit romance with Misaki.

Koi no Uso's story focuses on Yukari Nejima, an average high school student who’s looking forward to “The Red Threads of Science” to encourage a successful marriage and combat the increasing low birthrates in the country. One-night Yukari meets Misaki Takasaki, a long-time crush and Yukari decides to confess his love to Misaki. As Misaki reciprocates her feelings for Yukari, he himself receives a marriage notice. Yukari is now confused as he knows that he has a feeling for Misaki and at the same time he met the assigned partner Ririna Sanada who became fascinated into his romance before they met.

Koi no Uso anime series is produced by LIDENFILMS studio and did a good job for its animation. Story is the same as the manga source which is a good thing and a bit of modification at the same time to be suited well for its anime series. Character designs are almost identical to what I saw in the manga but a bit more detail and presentable and the color hair match is well suited especially to Ririna Sanada character. Anime quality is good as a romance drama goes on and one great thing is that the fluid quality throughout the whole series. The music choice a great choice for the opening song is well suited as the theme of the whole series is about love and lies at the same time a confusing part for Yukari and well match for its opening act, and for the ending song as story goes on for Yukari as he starts to move or what he will follow his heart or the system given to him that’s the real vibe of the ending song.

Koi no Uso anime series deserves a good anime recommendation in terms of its different school romance where the government is involved for your marriage life. Anime or manga? Anime series is like an introduction of the whole Koi no Uso story or most for the first time who saw the anime adaptation or what it is all about. The manga series is a good read where many things happen from one chapter to another and one reason is that a well written story and a twist and turns at the same time or a great moment happen. Anime series is a good start if you just want to know or learn the main story line and what is it all about Koi no Uso story. For a manga story this is one to read first because a manga continues the story and most people hate a cliffhanger story. Is Koi no Uso an underrated anime series? Yup it’s underrated series and one of the reasons is a confusing start for some or what’s the hidden agenda of other characters or the main cast in this story aside of the assigned marriage of Yukari Nejima and Ririna Sanada, some mystery still hidden as the anime series goes on or left most viewers that only watching anime series a lot of question in this series. Most of the questions left behind in its anime series can only be answered by the manga series that one thing I can see when I am done watching the whole series. Koi no Uso anime series is a good start for a different type of not your usual fixed marriage and the one who is doing it is the government and a reason behind is the low birthrate in the country but is that enough reason for most people who already find love from the start.
