Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? or Is This a Zombie? in English title one of the great anime series from 2011. Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? came from a light novel story written by Shinichi Kimura and illustrated by Kobuichi and Muririn. Anime series of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is produced by Studio Deen and here’s some popular title behind its studio like Fate/stay night, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Sakamoto Desu ga? and Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!. Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? consists of 12 episodes, runs about 24 minutes per episode and aired from January 2011 till March 2011. Opening song “Ma Ka Se Te Tonight” performed by Iori Nomizu. Ending song “Kizuite Zombie-sama, Watashi wa Classmate desu” performed by Rie Yamaguchi with manzo. Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? anime series is directed by Takaomi Kanasaki.

Ayumu Aikawa, a high school student who was murdered while investigating a suspicious house. Ayumu wakes up like nothing happened next to a strange armored girl named Eucliwood Hellscythe. Eucliwood reveals to Ayumu that she is a necromancer who revives Ayumu and turns him into a zombie. After Ayumu became an immortal, he started to hunt down his killer. One day while Ayumu is searching in the cemetery, he encounters Haruna, a magical girl.

Haruna is fighting a bear monster with a chainsaw while dressed as a magical girl. Ayumu saw something that he must not have seen on that night. After Haruna beats the beast she called Ayumu to erase his memories for what he saw on the night itself, instead of erasing his memories all the magical powers of Haruna are transferred to Ayumu. Haruna asks Ayumu or rather orders him to fight the monsters also known as “Megalo” a beast that roams around the human world and terrorizes the world at the same time.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? a story of Ayumu daily life after he’s been summoned by a necromancer Eucliwood. The main focus of the story is around Ayumu and new companions at his house aside from Eucliwood his second life rather a new start for becoming a zombie is far from his normal life. Ayumu's life started to change not because he became a zombie but using his never-ending life not just to save himself but also to lend his hand to help others. Story wise of the series is fun and at the same time a bit of drama but a serious part, a balanced story not just to make funny moments but also to know the real enemy they are facing aside for the Megalo who Haruna mission is to stop the rampage on the human world.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? the anime series produced by Studio Deen did a good job not just for its good story but also for its battle action where Ayumu fights with his new power by the use of magic from Haruna. Ayumu transforming as a magical girl is something to look forward to, not just the effects but also a good sync to maximize his strength, not just your regular zombie. Music choice of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is amazing for the opening song Ma Ka Se Te Tonight is a catchy powerful song to remember and the one who performed is the seiyuu of Haruna (Iori Nomizu) and ending song a bit of comedy or the fun side of the whole anime series an entertainment till the end part.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? deserves a great anime recommendation in terms of action and comedy, this one of the anime to watch and entertaining story to follow the daily life of Ayumu and his new found companions. Anime or light novel? First of all, I only learn the title from anime adaptation and watching it first is a good introduction for its story but also the battle scenes to look forward to. The anime series is a good start and to read the light novel series is also good in terms of knowing what happened next or to know more about what's happening around or different angles of the story aside from the Ayumu part. Is Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? an underrated anime series? Nope, not at all it’s fair and pass rating in terms of the story of a zombie life is entertaining starting point and some action with a bit of drama which is also good for the character development and to know more about them. Is this another harem series? In terms of its genre its harem but at the same time also an ecchi anime series but also a good harem setting not because it’s ecchi part but also a balance of characters in center of Ayumu it shows how he also cares to other people around him his kindness is still the strong feature of his character and lending his hand not just to help but also a new life he continues to fight for. Kore wa Zombie Desu ka is a great anime series to watch and hard to miss for the interesting story inside and continues action and comedy to entertain.
