Hitsugi no Chaika

Hitsugi no Chaika or Chaika -The Coffin Princess- in English title or Chaika for short, the story of Hitsugi no Chaika is from a light novel story of Histugi no Chaika written by Ichirou Sakaki and art draw by Namaniku ATK. The anime adaptation produced by Bones, here’s some popular titles under Bones studio Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Boku no Hero Academia, Noragami and Gosick. Hitsugi no Chaika series consist of 12 episodes, runs around 24 minutes per episode and aired from April 2014 to June 2014. Opening song “DARAKENA” performed by Iori Nomizu. Ending song “Kairaku Genri '' performed by Chika Anzai, Saeko Zougou and Yui Makino. Hitsugi no Chaika series is directed by Souichi Masui.

For over 500 years, a taboo Emperor Arthur Gaz ruled the empire with an iron fist and at the same time conducting a human experiment to its own people around his empire. But the reign of Emperor Gaz came to an end five years ago, when the mighty warriors defeated him in a battle for the capital. The mighty warriors are well known and called as the “Eight Heroes” and ended the 300-year long war between the Gaz Empire and the alliance of the six nations.

Tooru Acura is a former saboteur from a war who has a difficult life because he can’t find a job where he can use all his fighting skills because of the peaceful world he is experiencing. However, an opportunity appears in front of him when he meets a white-haired Wizard named Chaika Trabant with a coffin on her back. Chaika is searching for the scattered remains of his father in order to give him a proper burial, to make her search fast Chaika hired Tooru and her adoptive sister Akari.

The six nations alliance have now formed the Council of Six Nation dispatch Alberic Gillette and his men from Kleeman Agency given an order to pursue and apprehend the late Emperor Gaz daughter Chaika. Knowing the real identity of Chaika, the Acura siblings must choose between helping her to gather the remains of the former emperor or continue the peace on the continent protected by the Council of Six Nations.

Hitsugi no Chaika is a story of a daughter looking for the last remains of a father who brings suffering for over 500 years. The anime series adopts the first 6 volumes of the light novel series Hitsugi no Chaika the same title of the light novel series. The story is like a familiar setting by doing the last will of a deceased father and doing it by his child, where Chaika is the daughter of a former Emperor Gaz who made everyone suffer around his empire. The story is simple but creative as the story goes on or the adventure of Chaika and Acura siblings encounter a revelation one by one while searching the remains of Chaika’s father.

Hitsugi no Chaika animation is good in terms of fighting. It is something to look forward to a fight while in adventure is not just for the entertainment but to make the story more interesting. Bones done a job well done in terms of anime adaptation from a light novel story, a smooth thing not just to deliver the story but also a good action battle to see for the whole series. The music choice on the opening is a start with a bang like a good introduction that the story is not just your simple adventure to travel and explore around but to know the secrets hidden. For the ending song is like the emotion of the character of Chaika not just to carry out the last will of her father but also knowing who she really is after doing her part as a daughter.

Hitsugi no Chaika deserves a good recommendation in terms of story that mostly a good adventure and sticks on the main story part a good thing to watch, for the anime series of Hitsugi no Chaika there’s a two episode original anime story I think it’s to enhance or make the story more interesting because of the adaptation but overall this is good for people who enjoys the genre of adventure, action and fantasy. Anime or light novel? First of all I discover Hitsugi no Chaika getting an anime adaptation and decides to go and watch it first before reading the light novel series, so far the anime adaptation is almost same as in the light novel series and a bit of additional for some episode which is good because I don’t see it as a filler to the whole series but a bit to bring a more detail for the story not just some excitement but makes everyone more interesting to the whole story. Is Hitsugi no Chaika an underrated series? For most what I saw some just putting a low number from the start without giving a bit of chance by watching at least some episode that cause some confusion to the other people who wants to try something different but decide not to continue without a try, I watch it because the synopsis is interesting for me and gave a bit of buffer for the whole series to be done without watching it that makes more easy for my part to prevent some cliffhanger of weekly episode and everything is paid off because the story is great and interesting at the same time. Hitsugi no Chaika is a good anime for people who like action and adventure with a touch of fantasy to look forward to and I think you can finish it for the whole weekend to chill and relax at the same time.
