Ben-To

Ben-To a story about the half price food from a supermarket store. Ben-To is an original light novel story written by Asaura and art by Shibano, Kaito. Anime adaptation of Ben-To is produced by David Production and here’s some popular titles under the David Production like JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken, Enen no Shouboutai, Hataraku Saibou and Inu x Boku SS. The Ben-To series consists of 12 episodes, 24 minutes per episode and aired from October 2011 till December 2011. Opening song “LIVE for LIFE ~Ookamitachi no Yoru~” performed by Aimi and “Treasure” performed by Emiri Kato. Ending song “Egao no Housoku” performed by Mariya Ise. Ben-To anime series is directed by Shin Itagaki.

Supermarkets are one of the important parts of the city, to provide convenience to people around to purchase the things easily with a lot of variety of food in a family friendly environment. These stores change in a blink of an eye when the unsold bento boxes go on the half off price sale at night. A war breaks when friends become enemies as each person fights for honor, pride and dinner. The people in the supermarket were called Wolves and Dogs for a night half-price sale.
You Satou, a high school student who is just looking for a cheap dinner in the supermarket, suddenly beaten by the unknown before getting his bento meal. You Satou have been warned by one of the senpai at school to avoid the night fights but instead of choosing to avoid he joins in the night battles. After seeing You lacks of fighting skills an upperclassman and Wolf Sen Yarizui invites him and her classmate Hana Oshiroi who always watch the battle afar to join the Half-Priced Food Lovers Club to show them the distinction of wolves and dogs and to learn what is truly means to fight for your food.

Ben-To is not your usual night food story but a battle to fight for your food, not your ordinary supermarket to browse food but a half-priced is different thing not just to save some money but also to earn some respect for the food who cooked for and the people you beat at the same time. You Satou is not a fan of fight but he learned to fight for the half-priced food and learned it by a senpai who guide them a well-respected Wolf Sen Yarizui and with also her classmate Hana Oshiroi joined the club to learn the half-priced food is not your usual food you buy but also to fight for.

Ben-To anime adaptation is unexpected but many people enjoyed the series because it’s not your usual anime battle series, but a half-priced food battle inside a supermarket. David Production did a good job for anime adaptation and some spectacular battles to be seen in the whole anime series. The music choice is great and suits well for the whole anime series, the opening song is a great introduction not just the series but also the character and special name and ending song a waiting time for your club members return at the club room to enjoy the half-priced dinner together.

Ben-To deserves a good recommendation in terms of battle inside the supermarket is one of a kind and fighting for the half-priced food that is mostly known as a first come first serve system for discount is a real deal to enjoy a dinner meal. Anime or light novel? Anime is good to watch every fight and some fun moments in battle of the half-priced food but also interesting effects and background music suits well to enjoy the whole series. Light novel is also a good thing to read just like I ended up when I enjoyed the anime series for the first time and interesting fun story not just how they fight for the half-priced but also how it all started. Is the anime series underrated? Not at all, it’s fair and got a lot of positive to other viewers when they first watched the first episode and mostly glad it’s not your usual anime battle but got some good action and comedy at the same time with a bit of martial arts move to win your half-priced dinner is cool. Ben-To is not your regular anime just to watch because of an action series but with comedy and a fight inside the supermarket is something you don’t see at all and for the half-priced dinner you will do anything to win for it.
