Another one of the great supernatural anime series from 2012 because of the mystery stored inside its story and thriller in school theme, Another is written by Yukito Ayatsuji and illustrated by Noizi Itou. Anime adaptation of Another is created by P.A. Works and here’s some popular titles under its studio like Angel Beats!, Charlotte, Shirobako and Tari Tari. Another series consists of 12 episodes, 24 minutes per episode and aired from January 2012 till March 2012. Opening song “Kyoumu Densen” performed by ALI PROJECT. Ending song “anamnesis” performed by Annabel. Another anime series is directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. 

In 1972 one of the popular students at Yomiyama North Middle School class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. After the incident the whole town of Yomiyama surrounds a fearful and mysterious hidden secret. Twenty-six years later, Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to Yomiyama North Middle School into class 3-3 and soon discovers the strange gloom students belong to class 3-3. Kouichi meets the eyepatch wearing student Mei Misaki, because of the strange things inside the class 3-3 he finds out that they treat Mei like doesn’t exist or invisible inside the class. 

Paying no attention to the warning of everyone students in class 3-3 including Mei itself, Kouichi continues to interact to Mei and begins to be more close to her and starts to learn the truth behind the real reason of ignoring Mei and the mysterious and cruel events happened at class 3-3 of Yomiyama North Middle School hidden secrets.

Another a mysterious light novel story of a cruel event happened way before Kouichi transferred to Yomiyama North Middle School, a dark secret that still can’t be solved but a prevention or a sacrifice to stop the cruel or tragic event to students being killed for no reason from the start. A mysterious and supernatural story of Another where the class 3-3 is the only class around the Yomiyama North got a real problem or curse that students belonging to class 3-3 are being haunted and didn’t know what’s the real problem or the cause why its only happening only at their respective class 3-3.

Another anime series adaptation by P.A. Works done an amazing job for the whole anime series, the suspense and thrill of the story is within the whole anime series and the mysterious happening inside the class 3-3 to follow the main characters and unravel the secret why it is happening from the start to finish. The music choice is suits well the opening song Kyoumu Densen feels a mysterious things to happened in each episode and the performance of ALI PROJECT is great, the ending song anamnesis is all about the mysterious things happening at Yomiyama North and just hearing the music the feelings store inside the song is like horror story at top notch.

Another deserves a great anime recommendation in terms of mystery and horror thrill in the story itself makes you wonder why this kind of events happening only in class 3-3 and unravel the secrets one at a time is to look forward to in the whole series. Anime or light novel? The story itself is interesting and a real deal and that’s why I watched the anime series first and learned the title by the announcement of anime adaptation of Another light novel, read a short synopsis and decided to watch the whole series. The light novel consists of 2 volumes of Another a bit short but the mystery factor is still the high point of the whole story. Starting at the anime series is good as the light novel series because the anime adaptation did a great job for almost the same output of the story. Is the series overrated? Nope, not at all most people who watched it rated it positive in terms of the animation and the whole story, for some wants the uncensored series to see the whole thing happen. As much as I can I tried to not spoil the review but Another is a great thing that I watched at all because of the quality of the story stored inside and P.A. Works done a great job for this title. Another, a mystery horror thrill and supernatural story with a school setting is a great anime to watch to experience a bit of horror but with a great quality of story to unravel the secrets behind the class 3-3 of Yomiyama North.
